Privacy Policy for Trackpack
Effective date: September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trackpack ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. Trackpack is developed by Erik Mjaaland Skår, Norway.
Summary
Trackpack does not collect personal data. We do not operate servers that receive your data. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Your packing lists are stored on your device and in your own iCloud account.
Information stored by the App
Trackpack stores the content you create, including packs, items, trips, tags, quantities, notes and checklist status. This data is stored:
- On your device, in the App's local storage.
- In your iCloud account, if you are signed in to iCloud. The App uses Apple's CloudKit service to sync your data between your devices.
We cannot access data stored in your iCloud account. Apple processes iCloud data under its own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Sharing a workspace
You can invite other people to your workspace through iCloud sharing. When you do:
- The people you invite can view and edit all packs, trips, tags and items in the shared workspace.
- Apple handles invitations and access. Participants may see the name or iCloud contact details linked to each participant's Apple Account, as shown by Apple's sharing interface.
- You can stop sharing or remove participants at any time. Participants can leave a shared workspace at any time.
Only share your workspace with people you trust.
Backups
The App lets you export your data to a backup file. The file is saved to the location you choose, such as the Files app, and is not sent to us. You are responsible for any backup files you create or share.
In-app purchases
If the App offers in-app purchases, Apple processes all payments. We do not receive or store your payment information. The App checks your purchase status through Apple's StoreKit framework.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect or have access to:
- Your name, email address or contact details
- Your location
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Usage statistics or crash reports sent to us
- Any content you create in the App
If you choose to share crash data with developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports. These reports do not identify you.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties. The App does not contain third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it. You can:
- Delete individual items, packs and trips in the App.
- Delete the App to remove its local data from your device.
- Delete the App's iCloud data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage (the exact path depends on your iOS version).
Data in a workspace that another user owns remains in that user's iCloud account.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we do not collect or store your personal data, you manage these rights directly in the App and in your iCloud account. Contact us if you have questions.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the App.
